How to make a DIY pink clay mask

How to make a DIY pink clay mask

The most relaxing part of any day is putting on a clay mask and chilling in front of your favourite TV show.

Soak up the oils and pollution that gets on your skin from a chaotic day with a DIY pink clay mask.

SO why Pink Clay?

Pink Clay is rich in Silica, which may help to improve skin elasticity and cell renewal, resulting in supple, younger-looking skin.

Gently exfoliating the skin, Pink Clay leaves skin feeling silky-soft and smooth. It soaks up oil and dirt from the skin and helps minimise blackheads to promote a radiant and balanced complexion.

 Ingredients

A 77.80g Water
A 0.10g Disodium EDTA

B 7.00g Glycerin
B 0.50g Acacia & xanthan gum

C 1.00g Stearic acid
C 4.00g Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20
C 1.00g Avocado oil
C 1.00g Almond oil

D 6.00g Pink clay
D 1.00g Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin
D 0.60g Tocopherols - mixed

 Method

1. Measure out phase A.

2. Combine phase B to form a slurry. Add to phase A and stir through until a homogenous gel forms.

3. Heat phase A/B to 80⁰C. Combine phase C and add to phase A/B under high shear stirring and mix until all waxes are melted and a smooth, glossy, homogenous emulsion forms.

4. Allow mixture to cool under low shear stirring until <40⁰C. Add phase D and stir through under low shear until homogenous.

5. Allow to cool <25⁰C. Check/adjust final pH to 5.5 - 6. Full viscosity will be achieved the next day; do not evaluate on the day you make it. Cover and allow to set overnight; then give a final stir the next day before packing off.
